Getting started on P90X

So here is the scoop - I'm 5'5, 180lbs and mother to two boys ages 6 and 3. Somewhere along the line (and shortly after getting married) I started looking more like a beach ball with legs than a curvy woman. Not sure what happened but now I've been married 10 years and I definitely curve out way more than I curve in! SO I decided to do something about it. First, I started a martial arts program (Tang Soo Do) in February. Cannot say I lost a noticeable amount of weight but was overall not as unhappy as I was before.

Then one day I took my 6 year old with me to go shopping. We were in the dressing room and I was changing clothes - he looked at me with his big blue eyes and said "Mommy, I'm going to be nice. I won't laugh." I felt horrible. Absolutely disgusting. Then and there I decided I needed to do something and something long term.

I told my husband what had happened and we agreed to begin P90X. We are now on Day 4. Woohoo - I know - how can you say much when you are just a few days in? For me, it is the fact that not only do I ache, but I'm also excited to do the next routine. When did that happen? I was always the person who hated to sweat - the girl in gym class who sat on the sidelines telling others to play. I'm not a gym rat/exercise enthuasist. Or maybe I am?

I guess it is a good thing - I haven't croaked yet. Are the videos hard. He** yes! Plyometrics kicked my butt! But I kept going and finished the video. (Which is more than I can say for my husband who has yet to make it through a video.) I was proud of myself. Now if I can keep going!
